[Verse 1] Here's a kid named John.. He was a straight A kid. He was known for many many things positive. Always worked real hard, and always did his very best. He was getting far and also had a lot of friends. A few friends of his invited him to hang out a bit. He had nothing else to do and so he did go with these kids that had no good intention. This is when his life changed. Please pay attention. They went over to the woods that was near by. For some reason, John never wondered why, Why did they have to even be out of site? Why is this moment not feeling right? But as they moved on, they pulled out a couple things. Pulled a lighter out, lit up a couple "cigs." One said that he stole this stuff from his dad. Everyone but John seemed to be glad. John tried to lie, sayin that he has to go finish things for school but they said "No you don't." They didn't buy it, saying he was just afraid. They pressured him to smoke, saying that it's all okay. A few months go by, things haven't been so great. he's been skipping school and now his grades have been going down and now he doesn't care how his life his and if he stopped breathing air. [Hook] 'Cause this is a short story of a short life lived. He always tried to quit but it never seemed to give no matter how he tried, he always had relied on the one thing that was very bad for his own life. It doesn't matter which way he went. No matter what he did he still felt spent No matter what he wanted or wanted to do He still couldn't find his way on through. [Verse 2] The boy stepped out of his house onto his doorstep Took a deep breath and said out loud "What's next. What am I gonna do with myself now. I was dumb. I followed everybody else but how was I so blind? I used to live a very healthy life. Its very hard for me to even spend my money right. everyday I always say 'I'll be more than okay. I don't need to smoke a cigarette today' " But as we all know, it's not that easy to go a day without smoking. yeah, it's something hard to do. So when the feeling came in, there was nothing helping him. He fought real hard but ended up giving in. He pulled a cigarette out and lit it up again. Thought to himself "when will this ever end. I don't want to fight, I just wanna do right. I just want to live a normal life." [Hook] 'Cause this is a short story of a short life lived.
