2014 NJSDD Winners Perform at Annual HISPA Youth Conference
6/11/2014
Two of this year’s winners kicked off their music tours by performing at the annual HISPA Youth Conference at Princeton University on June 6. Third Place Winner Luke Leifken got it started with his inspiring song, “Take A Stand, ” telling the 8th graders to “take a vow to be drug free.” First Place Winners, The Whiptones energized the room with their doo-wop song, “Doing Drugs Ain’t Dope.” Comcast’s Kimberly Smith, Regional Director, Government & Community Affairs, also attended to support the event. Comcast has sponsored New Jersey Shout Down Drugs since 2006. We’d like to thank Dr. Ivonne Diaz-Claisse, President of HISPA, for inviting our winners to perform at the annual conference which is to inspire youth to “take action and realize their dreams.”
