Online Voting for NJ Shout Down Drugs Begins Today
Millburn, NJ – The Garden State is jam-packed with teenage musical talent and many of them are using their music to get a message out to their peers about the dangers of substance abuse.
High School students from across the state have entered The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s (PDFNJ) Shout Down Drugs competition. This initiative challenges young people from across the state to create original music with lyrics that contain powerful peer-to-peer drug prevention messages.
Beginning, today, February, 12, 2016, music submissions are on the website www.ShoutDownDrugs.comand the public is invited to cast votes for their favorite song. Voting ends on February 26, 2016. The finalists will be announced on March 1, 2016, after which, voting will begin for the statewide winner. All finalists will perform at the NJSDD Prevention Concert on May 25, 2016, at the Rutgers University Nicholas Music Center in New Brunswick.
